Aberdeen will be desperate to end a worrying poor run of form in recent weeks when they play host to a rejuvenated Rangers outfit at the Pittodrie Stadium on Sunday afternoon having failed to win any of their previous six matches in all competitions.
Four defeats in the Scottish Premiership have seen Aberdeen slip to losses at the hands of Celtic, Hibernian, Falkirk and Rangers, the latter being a 2-0 loss at Ibrox on Tuesday night but The Dons will have a chance to avenge that defeat on home soil on Sunday.
Aberdeen’s last league win came in the shape of a 2-1 home win against Kilmarnock in mid-December while Peter Leven’s side possess a home record which stands at 3-4-3 13/11 so far this season.
More importantly, Aberdeen have lost by 2 goals or more just once in their 10 home games to date.
Rangers now occupy 2nd place in the Scottish Premiership and find themselves just three points shy of the surprise package Hearts outfit heading into this weekend’s action as Danny Röhl’s side have picked up four league wins on the trot.
Recent victories against Motherwell, St Mirren, Celtic and Aberdeen respectively, while the bigger picture shows The Gers have won six of their last eight games and have suffered just two defeats in their last 13 matches overall.
This sort of form now makes Rangers a very dangerous opponent and places the visitors firmly in the Premiership title race while an away record of 5-4-1 18/9 suggests Danny Röhl’s side will be tough to beat here.
However, Rangers have won by 2 goals or more on just three occasions within their 10 away games so far this term.
The Betting Verdict
Rangers are in good form at the moment but Aberdeen are a stubborn outfit at Pittodrie Stadium.
