Having lost both of their last two games on the trot away from home, Waalwijk will be glad to return to their Mandemakers Stadion for this upcoming clash against lowly Volendam as the hosts look to produce one final push for a possible top seven finish in the Dutch top flight.

Waalwijk find themselves seven points adrift of seventh-placed Utrecht and with just four matches remaining of the season, it’s a case of now or never for the hosts who must win this clash on Friday night if they’re to stand any chance of finishing in the top seven.

Following previous back to back wins against Fortuna Sittard and Heerenveen, Waalwijk’s form has declined somewhat as the hosts have lost five of their subsequent seven games overall, but results at home have at least been encouraging as Waalwijk have lost just two of their last nine games, picking up six wins in the process.

Volendam sit just two league places and two points above the relegation play-off spot prior to this Friday’s trip to the Mandemakers Stadion but the visitors will be hoping they can replicate their recent 2-0 home win over Cambuur last time out.

Results have been inconsistent though at best where Volendam have been concerned as the visitors have suffered a total of 16 defeats to date this season out of a total of 30 games played so far this season.

Volendam have picked up eight wins so far in this campaign although seven of these victories were achieved on home soil at their Kras Stadion, while results away from home have been poor all season; an away record of 1-5-9 12/32 suggests this could be another tough assignment for the visitors on Friday night.
