Bayer Leverkusen extended their streak to 50 unbeaten games in a row last week, hammering Vfl Bochum 0-5 away. Now they are one match away from finishing the entire Bundesliga season unbeaten, something that has never happened before in German football history. Not even Bayern Munich, with all their greatest years of dominance, has ever finished unbeaten. It’s something that is unlikely to repeat anytime soon, anywhere, so we should expect another highly motivated performance by the Bayer Leverkusen team.

Also, Bayer Leverkusen will receive the German Bundesliga trophy after the match, which also promises a festive game. I put my hat down to Xabi Alonso, an incredible man. As a footballer, Alonso has won 17 trophies (!) with Spain’s national team, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich. And now, he will win his first trophy as a coach. What an achievement!

Alonso is likely to mix the line-up for this game, but whoever he plays with should be much better than Augsburg. Augsburg also lost three straight at away stadiums before this duel, so their form is pretty bad before this trip against the champions Bayer Leverkusen.
