Recent losses at the hands of Melbourne Victory, Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar have meant Wellington will have to make do with an 11th place finish in this season’s A-League table where they currently hold a commanding 10-point cushion above their upcoming visitors.

The wider picture shows Wellington Phoenix have managed to claim just the single win from their last 12 matches overall, slipping to seven defeats in the process, but the New Zealand club have at least dominated proceedings against Perth Glory.
