Strasbourg were dealt a 2-1 loss away from home at Angers last weekend in the French top flight which brought about an end to their previously impressive 12-game unbeaten sequence in Ligue 1 but at least the hosts will hold home advantage at their Stade de la Meinau in what will be the final game of the season with the hosts needing all three points to secure a European spot.

Saturday evening’s hosts had previously chalked up nine wins within their last 12 games overall which included picking up important victories on home soil against the likes of Montpellier, Toulouse, Lyon, Saint-Etienne and most impressive of all, a 2-1 win against the Ligue 1 winners-to-be, PSG.

The wider picture certainly places Strasbourg in a strong position to grab the all-important three points in this upcoming encounter as Liam Rosenior’s side have slipped to just two losses in their last 20 games overall, picking up a total of 13 wins in the process.

Le Havre meanwhile are fighting for Ligue 1 survival down near the bottom of the domestic top flight table as the visitors currently occupy the relegation play-off spot ahead of this tough looking trip to the Stade de la Meinau on Saturday evening.

The visitors now find themselves two points adrift of fourth from bottom club Nantes and safety so nothing less than a win on Saturday night will be enough for Didier Digard’s side but this may be easier said than done.

Le Havre have managed to pick up just one win in their last five games in Ligue 1 which came in the form of a 2-1 win away from home at Auxerre but also includes being handed losses by Rennes, PSG and Marseille.
