Ukrainian club Dynamo Kyiv will play host to Cypriot visitors Pafos in this 1st leg encounter in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League at the Motor Lublin Arena in Poland on Tuesday night with the home side going in search of a fourth win on the trot in all competitions.

Indeed, Dynamo Kyiv made short work of their Maltese opposition in the previous qualifying round as they registered a 6-0 win on aggregate over two legs against Ħamrun Spartans, winning 3-0 in both home and away legs.

In addition, Dynamo Kyiv recorded a 1-0 win away from home at Veres Rivne in their opening game of the new Ukrainian domestic top flight season, so manager Oleksandr Shovkovskyi will be urging his players to extend their recent winning momentum in this important encounter.

Dynamo Kyiv last reached the group stage of the Champions League back in the 2021/22 season.

Pafos finished top of last season’s Cypriot 1.Division and then secured their place in this season’s Champions League qualifying phase thanks to end of season wins against Aris and AEK, and the visitors pulled off a memorable victory in the previous round of qualifying in this competition.

Pafos are expected to face another tough proposition though in this 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League in the shape of Dynamo Kyiv though, especially as the visitors possess no previous experience at this level with this being their first ever appearance in this competition.
