Not much is new at Juventus. They're still trying to get rid of Dusan Vlahovic but there are no serious buyers, and they're still trying to play that old Juventus style where they win 1-0. Igor Tudor is the latest coach to try to restore the glory days of Vecchia Signora. The 47-year-old Croatian was appointed back in March, has led Juventus in 9 league games so far, and he has only a single Serie A defeat. You guessed it, it was Parma, they won 1-0 in round 33. In all other matches the outcome was predictable, a 1-1 draw in big matches (Roma, Bologna, Lazio) and a win when favoured.

Tudor is actually an underrated coach that seems to just be waiting for a team that's the right fit for him. Things always start going sideways at some point, but maybe, just maybe, he can finally gain traction here at Juventus. After all, these players fit his high-tempo defensive style.

It seems Juventus won't be as reliant on Vlahovic anymore. Jonathan David was brought in from Lille on a free transfer, and that's truly the best deal of this transfer window. The 25-year-old offensive prodigy is entering the best years of his career. Also, Juventus brought in right wingers Francisco Conceicao and Nico Gonzalez, and also secured the services of the excellent goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.

Let's not forget that Teun Koopmeiners is here, though he didn't do a massive impact upon signing from Atalanta last season, and that Kenan Yildiz is a year older, 20 now, and ready to start making things happen on the football pitch.

This looks like a really, really potent side that is ready to win the scudetto. Juventus is the prime favourite.

Parma Team News

Parma was fun for a while. We had the nostalgic trip when they joined Serie A last season, as a lot of us still remember the 2000s success under Parmalat, with Buffon, Crespo, Veron, Chiesa and the others, especially as Parma came into the league with a wildly offensive style. It has fizzled out by the second half of the season, but Parma managed to survive because of the 0-0 against Napoli and the 2-3 away win at Atalanta in the final two rounds of the 24/25 season.

Now this seems to be a completely changed side, as the big clubs plucked the best players such as Leoni, Bonny and Sohm, and we don't yet know what the new players can do. We'll certainly wait for the biggest signing, prodigy forward Matija Frigan, for a while as he got injured upon arrival.

The new manager is a 30-year-old Spanish guy, and we can only assume Parma now wants to do a Como and transition into a smooth-passing team. We'll see how that goes. Last season, Parma learned that wild offense doesn't get you very far as you get figured out and must start playing more defensively, which in turn took all the edge off their offense.

In any case, Parma is in search of a new identity. We don't yet know what they're capable of, and neither do they.

The Betting Market

Makes sense to have Juventus as a big favourite - 1.45 - and this is almost the same price as last season's match that ended 2-2, with Juventus chasing the lead twice.

Over 2.5 Goals is priced at 1.80 while the Under is priced at 2.00, which means the bookmakers don't really know what will happen, and that you can probably get a lot of value here if you have a hunch. Same goes for the BTTS market, where the No option is the tempting one at 1.80.

The Betting Verdict

Let's just take the simplest bet here, Juventus to win this one. Parma isn't yet ready for such a massive challenge, and Juventus might positively surprise us this season. Tudor has so far taken care of this type of matches with success, with a very limited roster, and now he has more weapons to work with. We expect a dominant win for Juventus that will never be in question. This isn't 2024/25 anymore.
