Inter Team News
We all knew Inter is a bit weaker in 2024/25 than that dominant force the year before, but this side probably had another scudetto in them. However, Napoli caused an upset and stole the trophy. 24 wins and almost 80 goals scored should be enough to win Serie A, but it turned out the Nerazzuri were a point short.
Now it's more likely that we'll witness another gradual decline than the return to the dominant ways of 2023/24. Don't get us wrong, this will still be a mighty side, just not as mighty.
Coach Simone Inzaghi was the mastermind behind Inter's dominance, now he's left the club and we'll see what Christian Chivu, of no managerial experience other than the 13 matches in Parma (3 wins), can do. There is certainly potential in Chivu as a manager, but we'll see how it fits this roster and if can it build another mighty team.
As usual, Inter doesn't do much tinkering in the transfer market and they gradually add new players into the squad. A notable addition is Petar Sucic, who will now be one of the better midfielders in the league, and Inter also snapped up centre forward Bonny from Parma. He'll take the role of Mehdi Taremi - be a substitute for Lautaro and Marcus Thuram.
Torino Team News
Marco Baroni, who coached Hellas Verona with success and was then moderately successful at Lazio but deemed not quite good enough for a club of this size, has now settled in Turin and it's a fine choice. Now we'll see can Torino play football or not, as so far all we've seen from them is constipated Ivan Juric gameplay where nothing happens at all.
Torino will no longer have the services of defensive midfielder Samuele Ricci who left for AC Milan, and Antonio Sanabria is now at Cremonese so Duvan Zapata will indeed be a one-man offense in this team. He's already 34. As Che Adams hasn't shown much, the 30-year-old Giovanni Simeone was brought in on loan from Napoli.
Soon we'll see if Ivan Juric was a mastermind who brought the best out of this team that would otherwise be a relegation candidate, or Torino has more in store. Most likely, it's the former, as ugly as it looked on the pitch. A good signing or two and this same squad could have challenged for European spots, but here we are.
Expect a bottom half finish from Torino this time around, and not a lot of scoring, as they simply haven't got the tools.

The Betting Market
The price on Milan is 1.40 or so, and it's more than fair. A better bet, however, could possibly be a BTTS-No, priced at 1.80, as Inter will likely toughen up, wanting to win this one to nil and start a season-long trend.
That being said, the price on Inter to Win To Nil is a whopping 2.37. Inter had six home wins to nil last season, though they were also known to concede two goals far too often. Torino scored two in a 3-2 defeat, same as Monza, while Bologna and Lazio got 2-2 draws.
The Betting Verdict
However, despite the seemingly soft underbelly, we fully expect Inter to run out of the blocks with a firm intent to stop conceding and to win the title with solid defence. This was their trademark the year before.
