Home form is going to be very important for Leeds United who have a 1-2-0 record at Elland Road having scored 3 goals and conceded 2 so far this season.

Leeds United have bounced back from the thumping loss at Arsenal by losing 1 of their last 4 Premier League games and earning a very good looking 1-3 win at Wolves during that time. They have drawn consecutive games at Elland Road against Newcastle United and Bournemouth, but the manager will feel Leeds United deserved more from both games.

Tottenham Hotspur

Character is being shown in the early tenure of Thomas Frank as Tottenham Hotspur manager, but he will be wanting his team to show a bit more before they are needing to fight back within matches. Conceding first has been something of a trend over the last month and it has meant Tottenham Hotspur have struggled to kick on as much as the fans may have expected or wanted.

A late goal was needed to secure a home point against Wolves last Saturday and leaves Tottenham Hotspur in 4th place in the Premier League table and 4 points behind leaders Liverpool. They do have a chance to close that gap before the Champions play later in the day, while Tottenham Hotspur will head to Yorkshire with a 2-1-0 away record in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur have drawn 3 of their last 4 games in all competitions and the exception in that run is a League Cup win over Doncaster Rovers from League One. They have trailed in all of those games that have ended in draws, including in consecutive away games at Brighton and Bodo/Glimt when Spurs found themselves 2-0 down before scoring late equalisers.

Dominic Solanke is set for another month on the sidelines at least, while Kolo Randal Muani may be able to join the squad for this away fixture. Thomas Frank has been rotating his team a little bit over the last few games and more changes are expected, especially to the front line and midfield.

Prediction

There have been one or two issues for Leeds United in the final third, but Daniel Farke has to be really encouraged by the five goals scored in the last couple of fixtures.

Winning at Wolves feels important, but it would have been a huge victory if Leeds United had come from behind and held on for a home win over Bournemouth last weekend.

Late goals have hurt Leeds United over the last month, and they will be well aware of the fighting character shown by Tottenham Hotspur under Thomas Frank.

At the same time, Leeds United may feel they can get on top of Spurs early in this one having noted that the visiting team have been trailing in 3 of their last 4 games in all competitions. Tottenham Hotspur have also been 2-0 down in consecutive away games at Brighton and Bodo/Glimt, although the squad depth has perhaps helped in getting back into those matches and earning draws.

Thomas Frank will still feel there is more to come from his Tottenham Hotspur team and he will expect them to be a lot better than they were in Norway on Tuesday.

Results have perhaps been better than the overall recent performances produced by Tottenham Hotspur, but there is a chance for them to become the first team to win at Elland Road this season. They will have to believe that they can largely deal with what Leeds United bring as an attacking force, although it will mean needing to defend plenty of balls being thrown into the box, but the real edge is when Tottenham Hotspur get forward and try and take the game to the home team.

The expectation is that this will be a game that features at least three goals.

Both teams should find a way to hit the back of the net, but the superior qualities of Tottenham Hotspur in the final third could be the key to the final outcome and they may earn a narrow victory in the early Saturday kick off.
