Como Team News

Como still only has a single defeat, the 1-0 to Bologna, and is performing respectably so far in the league with two wins and three draws. What's noticeable here is that progress of this team and club are slow.

We perhaps expected Como to do better, at least to be able to be a confident home favourite. Yet they drawn the matches against Genoa and Cremonese, both ended 1-1. Well that's what you get when you have a single player, Nico Paz, running the show. Sometimes he'll solve the match for you, sometimes he won't. To win more often, Como will have to introduce some other star players. Not Baturina, he's a dud. Announced in the starting lineup for the first time this season, by the way.

As with all sides that struggle to climb the wall that is being a favourite at home against a defensive team, Como too is more likely to perform in offense when the opponent is of the kind that opens up and plays football.

Juventus Team News

Juventus looked so good at one point, and not because of the 4-3 win against Inter but because of their football display on the pitch. And then, problems started emerging. Juventus hasn't beaten anyone since Inter, which is now a span of five consecutive draws.

Problems don't have to be big ones to have an effect on the result. You simply have to field Jonathan David, a complete mismatch for Italian football, as centre forward, and that's enough to ruin the game. David is one of those skinny and wiggly forwards that seek space but don't create it themselves. Vlahovic, the untrusted forward, is still the best choice to lead the line. Lois Openda we have yet to make a judgement on, but he hasn't scored in last 13 matches for club and country. David is dry since August too.

Add to that the newly found problems in defence that emerged when the team started playing more offensively, and you got yourself a shaky favourite. Juventus fans are probably the most frustrated bunch in Italy right now. Even Roma started performing, Milan too, but now Juventus has stalled.

Probable Lineups

Como (4-2-3-1): Butez - Posch, Ramon, Carlos, Vojvoda - Perrone, Da Cunha - Kuhn, Paz, Baturina - Morata. Coach Fabregas.

Juventus (3-5-2): Di Gregorio - Gatti, Rugani, Kelly - Kalulu, Koopmeiners, Locatelli, K.Thuram, Cambiaso - Yildiz, Vlahovic. Coach Tudor.

Juventus is still without central defender Bremer and that's a big issue. Thuram returns, and Yildiz and Vlahovic are announced as starters in a 3-5-2 formation. This could work like a charm. Has Tudor been watching AC Milan matches lately?

Juventus win is priced at 2.50, and if you believe Como will do some giant killing here you can get 2.88.

The price on Over 2.5 Goals is 2.10, with 1.73 for the Under, and the Both Teams To Score market is split down the middle at 1.91. In all but two matches so far Como scored and conceded, and for this season's Juventus it seems to be a classic outcome too.

The Betting Verdict

Juventus is presently not a side that you bet on. Too many problems here, so they're not considered a confident favourite at the moment. You don't do the usual Saturday banker of betting on Juventus against a minnow.

However, we expected a price of around 1.80 here and it's 2.50 as if these sides are equal. They most certainly are not. As shaky as Juventus is, they got Yildiz, Vlahovic, Conceicao and much more. Como only has Paz.

While we accept that the most likely outcome here is a scoring draw, the price on Juventus is too good to be missed. They didn't win in Verona when they were expected to - so why not win now at Lago di Como when they're not expected to?

Still, the best bet here remains BTTS-Yes for a whopping 1.91. We expected something around 1.75.
