Aberdeen were given a footballing lesson in Europe in midweek in the UEFA Conference League as The Dons were thrashed 6-0 away from home at AEK Athens and now Jimmy Thelin’s side will need to dust themselves off and prepare for this upcoming clash against Hibernian in the Scottish top flight on Sunday afternoon.

Aberdeen had previously picked up back-to-back wins in the domestic top flight with victories gained over Dundee and St Mirren but that has sadly been the extent of Aberdeen’s exploits in the Scottish Premiership so far this season as the hosts have also drawn once but slipped to five defeats within their opening eight league matches.

Hibernian by contrast occupy 3rd place in the Scottish Premiership table as the visitors have produced a stubborn but effective start to their domestic top flight campaign this season, losing just once in their opening eight games.

Two wins along with five draws have helped David Gray’s side into strong contention for a possible top six finish this term and Hibs head into this Sunday’s clash at Pittodrie on the back of a comprehensive 4-0 rout of Livingston which helped ease the pain of the previous 1-0 loss to arch-rivals, Hearts.

An away record of 1-2-1 4/4 shows Hibernian will be tough to beat on the road this weekend.
