2025-11-22 - Bournemouth vs West Ham United

A Sports Betting Preview by Auls

Bournemouth v West Ham United
Football: English Premier League
Saturday 22nd November 2025 - Kick Off 3pm

Bournemouth

Reports this week have suggested that a trio of Premier League clubs are circling Antoine Semenyo and could make a move to buy him as soon as January. The new contract signed by the attacker has a release clause attached for January and one that will see the price lowered if activated next summer, but teams may not be prepared to wait and that would be another blow for Bournemouth, who have lost so many key players in the last window too.

Despite that, Andoni Iraola has helped the team maintain strong form and the manager is another who may potentially leave next summer. He is focusing through the distractions and Bournemouth are 9th in the Premier League table and just 4 points behind 2nd placed Manchester City with European Football a real target, assuming they can keep the majority of the squad together. The Cherries have a 4-1-0 record at the Vitality Stadium this season.

Bournemouth have won 1 of the last 4 Premier League games played and suffered back to back heavy defeats to Manchester City and Aston Villa, although both away from home. The victory in that run of games was at the Vitality Stadium against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth will be chasing a third League win in a row here this weekend.

The aforementioned Antoine Semenyo returned from international duty earlier than planned after picking up a knock, but that turned out to be a ruse so he could make a surprise proposal to his girlfriend. Adam Smith should be available for selection.

West Ham United

The lowly Premier League position may suggest otherwise, but Nuno Espirito Santo and West Ham United's squad will be hugely disappointed that they had to sit through an international break over the last fortnight. The team had earned back to back big wins to build real momentum and the manager will be hoping that has not been slowed by the absence of Premier League Football.

An important home win over Burnley has pushed West Ham United level on points with the beaten opponent, although they are 18th in the Premier League table thanks to an inferior goal difference. The Hammers have a 1-1-3 away record in the top flight where they have scored 5 goals and conceded 8.

West Ham United had earned a single point from 6 Premier League games played and then fell behind against Newcastle United, but they rallied for a 3-1 win and beat Burnley 3-2 in the next League games. Both wins were earned at the London Stadium, and West Ham United will next try to snap a run of consecutive away League defeats.

Lukasz Fabianski, Konstantinos Mavrapanos, Freddie Potts and Niclas Fullkrug are all hoping to be passed fit to travel to the South Coast. However, Lucas Pacqueta will serve a one game suspension.

Head to Head

Both Premier League games between Bournemouth and West Ham United ended in score draws last season.

Bournemouth have failed to win any of 4 home games against The Hammers, but 3 of those have ended in draws, including the last two by the same 1-1 scoreline.

Prediction

Credit has to be given to Nuno Espirito Santo for the confidence he has instilled in his West Ham United side.

After losing to Leeds United in another really poor performance and conceding early at home to Newcastle United, most would have expected West Ham United to fold again.

Instead they fought back to beat The Magpies and West Ham United then came from behind to beat Burnley in the next home League game. What had once looked like a vulnerable team that were never that far away from capitulating has been replaced by a group of players that are playing with a lot more confidence and belief and the manager has to be given the credit for changing the mindset.

Turning games around at home is impressive considering the kind of environment that has been around the London Stadium all season.

Now The Hammers try to take the show on the road, but this is a tough test for them, even if Bournemouth conceded seven goals in consecutive losses prior to the November international break.

Both defeats were against clubs that finished in the top six last season and both away from home.

Bournemouth have been stronger at the Vitality Stadium, although they will be hoping Antoine Semenyo is not missing any time after returning from international duty with a knock. Even if he is out, Bournemouth have shown they can fill the gaps left by key players and they have made the Vitality Stadium a tough ground to visit.

Recent games against West Ham United have been tougher, but the absence of Lucas Pacquete is a blow for the East Londoners.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men have to show they can be as effective on the road as they have been at home in the last couple of matches, but Bournemouth have the quality to secure a win and snap a four game winless home run against this opponent.
