2025-11-29 - Brentford vs Burnley

A Sports Betting Preview by Auls

Brentford v Burnley
Football: English Premier League
Saturday 29th November 2025 - Kick Off 3pm

Brentford

A late Penalty was awarded to Brentford, but Igor Thiago was unable to score from the spot for the second time in the same game and the team were beaten narrowly at Brighton. The contrast between the home and away results is stark, but there have been improvements in the performances on the travels to back up the stronger home run and Keith Andrews and Brentford fans will be confident in the squad and the quality to avoid the drop.

While the results will have some looking further up the Premier League standings, Brentford know this is a season of transition and the most important ambition is to make sure they retain top flight status next May. The Bees are 13th in the Premier League table and they have a very solid 4-1-1 record at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Brentford have lacked a bit of consistency, which is mainly down to the very differing records when playing at home and on the road, and they have won 5 of the last 9 games in all competitions, while losing the other 4. This game is taking place at their home in West London where Brentford have won 3 of the last 4 Premier League games, including 2 in a row since the battling defeat to Manchester City.

There are three long-term injuries in the Brentford squad, but the remainder are all available this weekend.

Burnley

They battled and they clawed, but Burnley were ultimately unable to match the quality of 'Big Six' Chelsea in a 0-2 home defeat out of the international break. Fixtures like that one will be expected to be difficult all season, but Scott Parker's team need to make sure they are picking up points against potential relegation rivals in their fight to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

It was Burnley who opened up the Premier League weekend and results afterwards have seen the team dropped into 19th place in the table, although just a point behind 17th placed West Ham United. The side have a 1-0-5 away record in the top flight this season and Burnley have scored 9 goals, but conceded 18 in those matches.

Burnley scored a very late goal to beat Wolves 2-3 at Molineux at the end of October, but they have lost all 3 Premier League games played since then. They led at the London Stadium earlier this month, but Burnley were beaten by relegation rivals West Ham United and they have conceded at least twice in all 6 away League games played this season.

Scott Parker has the same squad that was available last weekend, although he may choose to make some changes to the starting eleven to end this losing run.

Head to Head

Two seasons ago, Brentford and Burnley both beat the other at home in the Premier League.

Brentford lost the last 3 times they hosted Burnley at Griffin Park, but have won both home games at the Gtech Community Stadium against this opponent.

Prediction

December may not begin until Monday, but for Premier League clubs, the start of the festive period is this weekend as a huge number of fixtures are set to be completed through to the first two weekends of the New Year.

It does put pressure on managers as they try and make the right decisions to keep players fresh, but for both Keith Andrews and Scott Parker, this is an important fixture that should keep the focus firmly on Saturday.

Brentford and Burnley were both tipped up for potential relegation at the start of the season, although the former have looked more than capable of surviving at this level.

In saying that, Brentford are only 6 points ahead of Burnley because they have struggled away from home.

Fortunately for fans of The Bees, they are hosting this weekend and the Gtech Community Stadium has been something of a fortress for them. Losing once in 6 Premier League games here would make that the case regardless of the opposition, but Brentford have impressed considering they have faced five clubs that finished in the top six last season and also Manchester United.

This has not stopped Brentford from piling up the wins and they will be encouraged by the fact that Burnley have not been nearly as solid defensively away from Turf Moor as they have been at home.

Scott Parker will want his team to offer more going forward against a team that is expected to finish in the bottom half of the table, but Burnley have not found the balance defensively. They have now conceded at least twice in all 6 away Premier League games played this season, and that includes visits to teams like Wolves and West Ham United.

Credit has to be given to Burnley for beating Wolves, but the 3-2 loss at West Ham United flatters them and this is another tough test against a team that is very confident at home.

Brentford have beaten Burnley in both previous games hosted at their new Stadium and they look good enough to secure a hat-trick of victories in another game where The Bees attack can impress.
