Can the thunder strike twice in the same place? A few weeks ago, Union Berlin became the first team to stop Bayern Munich winning machine by holding them to a 2-2 home draw in the Bundesliga. However, many things have changed since then.

First, Union Berlin’s form declined. They played a horrible last game, losing 1-2 at home to the worst team in the Bundesliga, Heidenheim. Before that, they were unbeaten in three, drawing twice.

Next, Union Berlin have also been rather poor at home overall. They achieved just one victory in their last six home matches, drawing three and losing twice.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich were extremely lucky last weekend. Being held to a 1-1 draw by weak St.Pauli until the 93rd minute, when they scored two goals in quick succession for a 3-1 win.

A win is a win, but that type of win does not satisfy Bayern Munich’s board, so they are under slight pressure not to let that happen again.

Still, Bayern Munich is in excellent shape overall and is still unbeaten on the road. They won four of their last five away games, with the only draw being the 2-2 against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.

Some rotation is expected in the lineup, but coach Kompany is still expected to field a strong starting eleven for this game.

The Betting Verdict

An interesting fact is that Bayern Munich is unbeaten in 15 straight duels against Union Berlin, but both of their last two trips to Berlin ended in score draws (1-1 and 2-2).

I doubt the Bavarians will repeat the same from their last trip to Berlin a few weeks ago, when they battled back for a 2-2 draw.

This game is another story, and I expect Bayern Munich to win in combination with some goals.
