Brentford

Back to back losses in North London is a reminder of the work that Brentford will still have to get through if they are going to avoid being dragged into the relegation battle that is developing behind them. However, Keith Andrews will be the first to point out how much more effective his Brentford have been when playing at their home in West London and a win on Sunday would go a long way to easing any growing relegation concerns.

They were well beaten at Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday and that has left Brentford in 14th place in the Premier League table and 7 points clear of the relegation zone. The Bees do have 19 points on the board, which means they are well on the way towards safety, and Brentford have a very impressive 5-1-1 record at the Gtech Community Stadium where they have scored 15 goals and conceded 8.

Brentford have lost 3 of the last 4 Premier League games played, but all of those have been away from home, while the exception is a win over Burnley at the Gtech Community Stadium. The side have won 3 in a row here in the Premier League since losing narrowly to Manchester City back in early October.

The squad that was available last weekend is set to be involved again, although Kevin Schade is suspended.

Leeds United

A late goal was conceded at Manchester City as Leeds United suffered another Premier League defeat, but the second half performance gave the fans a lot of hope that things could improve under manager Daniel Farke. There is little doubt that the pressure had been increasing as the losses piled up, but Farke has found something of a solution and Leeds United have picked up key points this month already.

Positive results against Chelsea and Liverpool have pushed Leeds United up into 16th place in the Premier League table and 2 points clear of West Ham United in the bottom three. Everyone who visits Elland Road will know the challenge that is to be faced, but Leeds United need to improve the 1-0-6 away record if they are going to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

Leeds United had suffered 4 Premier League defeats in a row, culminating in the 3-2 defeat at the Etihad Stadium. Since then, they have beaten Chelsea 3-1 and fought back for a 3-3 draw with Liverpool in games at Elland Road. Leeds United have lost 4 away Premier League games following the win at Molineux in September.

Lukas Nmecha is hoping to be passed fit to travel down to the capital for this League game.

Head to Head

Brentford and Leeds United last met in the 2022/23 Premier League season and it was the former who picked up four points with the majority being earned from a 5-2 win here.

They had failed to win the previous 2 home games against Leeds United, but Brentford have won 4 of the last 6 in West London against them.

Prediction

Both Keith Andrews and Daniel Farke will want to see their team get forward and cause problems for the other in this big League game on Sunday afternoon and it would be a real surprise if there are not goals shared out when Brentford host Leeds United.

They share similarities in being much stronger at home than on their travels and that gives Brentford the edge this weekend.

Brentford have gotten forward and scored plenty of goals at the Gtech Community Stadium and the fact they have won 5 of 7 League games played here this season is impressive enough on its own. However, that becomes more impressive when noting that Brentford have hosted six teams that sit in the top half of the table and they will feel they can hurt this Leeds United team.

Daniel Farke's team have found confidence from the second half performance against Manchester City when fighting back from 2-0 down and only being beaten by a goal scored in injury time.

Big results against Chelsea and Liverpool have given them momentum, but Leeds United have found it much tougher when travelling and 4 away League defeats in a row is hard to ignore.

They should be able to play a part with the chemistry that has been found when going forward, but Leeds United concede too many chances and Brentford have shown they can punish that at home.

Any winning effort for the home team should be in a game where Brentford score at least twice, but this is a simple bet this weekend and that is merely looking for The Bees to win by any scoreline.
