Peterborough United made it three wins on the trot in League One last weekend as The Posh registered a 1-0 win away from home at Port Vale and the hosts will be looking to make it four on the bounce when they play host to Leyton Orient at London Road on Boxing Day.

Recent wins against Reading and Northampton Town have also contributed to Peterborough’s sudden rise up the League One table, transforming The Posh from possible relegation candidates to more closely resembling a mid-table club.

However, prior to these recent victories, Peterborough had slumped to four defeats on the trot in all competitions which included losses in League one at the hands of Stevenage and Doncaster Rovers - but goals look set to feature here as six of Peterborough’s 10 home games have resulted in Over 2.5 goals.

Leyton Orient managed to return to winning ways last time out in the English third tier last weekend as The O’s produced a welcome and much-needed 2-1 home win against automatic promotion candidates, Bradford City, so the visitors will be seeking to build upon that result on Boxing Day.

However, the London visitors had also hit something of a speed-bump before the Bradford City result as Leyton Orient had failed to win any of their preceding four games in all competitions.

Defeats to Plymouth Argyle in the EFL Trophy, Salford City in the FA Cup and a 3-2 loss away from home at Barnsley in League One suggest the visitors are a bit of a gamble in terms of the straight win markets.

Goals look likely though as eight out of Leyton Orient’s 10 away games to date have also produced three goals or more.
