Preview

For the second time in the space of a few days, the Chicago Bulls (13-15) and Atlanta Hawks (15-15) will be facing one another, although the chances of it being nearly as dramatic as the game on Sunday are low.

The highest scoring game of the NBA season so far ended with the Chicago Bulls winning 152-150 on the road and the teams meet in Atlanta again.

This time it is the Hawks who have been set as the favourites and it is that period of the season when teams will give players some rest around the festivities.

It makes things a little tougher to predict when news about players that will be sitting or suiting up is yet to come out- we have seen the New York Knicks announce the starters who will not be travelling to Minnesota twenty-four hours before tip off, but that is rare and both of these teams needed to use all of their depth in the game that was played on Sunday.

Trae Young being back for the Hawks is a huge boost for this team and they are going to believe they can pick up from where they left off- this is a team that will find plenty of balance on the Offensive side of the court, but the Atlanta Hawks have lost three in a row and that is largely down to the lack of stops on the other side of the court.

You have to expect the Hawks to put up plenty of points, but the Chicago Bulls are going to be hugely encouraged by the spaces they exploited on Sunday.

Some may feel that is unsustainable, but the Hawks have not performed very well on the Defensive side of the court and that has been really clear in recent games. They are a team that have allowed opponents to find plenty of open looks from the three point range and that is something that the Chicago Bulls will have noted as they look for another victory over this Eastern Conference rival.

The key to the win on Sunday was that the Chicago Bulls were able to out-rebound the Atlanta Hawks and they will need to at least stick with them on the boards.

If they can do that, the Bulls have the scoring power to keep this one close on the scoreboard and make use of the points being given to them.
