2025-12-27 - West Ham United vs Fulham

A Sports Betting Preview by Auls

West Ham United v Fulham
Football: English Premier League
Saturday 27th December 2025 - Kick Off 3pm

West Ham United

Nuno Espirito Santo will be aware that fixtures such as at the Etihad Stadium last weekend are not going to determine West Ham United's top flight status. However, that also means there is some pressure on the squad to ensure they pick up positive results from matches like this one so West Ham United can stay in touch with the relegation rivals above them ahead of the January transfer window.

The Hammers are 18th in the Premier League table and they are 5 points behind Nottingham Forest outside of the bottom three, although this could be an important weekend to close that gap. All the West Ham United players can do is focus on improving the 2-0-6 record at the London Stadium where they have scored 10 goals and conceded 20.

West Ham United have not won any of the last 6 Premier League games played and they have earned 3 points from a possible 18 in that time. The side had won important home League games against Newcastle United and Burnley in back to back fixtures at the London Stadium, but West Ham United have since been beaten by both Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Niclas Fullkrug could be available this weekend, but may not be risked with a deal to join AC Milan in place.

Fulham

Marco Silva's team earned a big win over Nottingham Forest last Monday and there is an opportunity for Fulham to focus on having a strong FA Cup run in 2026. Relegation concerns have not been completely erased, but the victory has pushed Fulham up the League table and will allow the manager to put plenty of stock into having a strong Cup run.

They are 13th in the Premier League table and 10 points clear of West Ham United in the relegation zone. Earlier this season Fulham had been struggling for away results, but they do have a 2-1-5 record on their travels ahead of this relatively short journey across London.

Fulham were beaten in the League Cup Quarter Final earlier this month, but they have won 5 of the last 7 Premier League games to move away from the relegation zone. After a poor run away from home, Fulham have won consecutive away Premier League games at Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley ahead of this fixture.

Harry Wilson has been in fine form, but is considered a doubt for this fixture after coming off with an injury on Monday.

Head to Head

West Ham United earned four points from Fulham last season and the majority were from a 3-2 victory at the London Stadium.

The Hammers have won 6 of the last 7 home games against Fulham.

Prediction

Losing to Manchester City is not going to be something that determines the West Ham United future, but there is pressure on the squad to put in a big performance before the January transfer window opens.

Nuno Espirito Santo will want to bring in some reinforcements to aid West Ham United in the battle to avoid the drop, while he is also looking to improve those that are available to him.

After a couple of important home wins, West Ham United have lost back to back fixtures here and now face a Fulham team that have won consecutive away League games.

Another victory over Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage has given Fulham momentum to push away from the bottom three, although they may have lost Harry Wilson for this fixture.

It would be a blow with some key players away at the African Cup of Nations and Fulham were perhaps a little fortunate to win at Turf Moor, where Harry Wilson had been hugely influential.

Recent visits to East London have resulted in a lot more losses than defeats and West Ham United have the capabilities of extending that positive run against this London rival. They have players who are looking pretty good going forward, although Espirito Santo will want West Ham United to defend with more conviction than they showed in the defeat to Aston Villa.

In saying that, it was the Aston Villa quality that shined in that one and West Ham United have looked a bit more convincing at home than on their travels under the current manager.

Winning will not be easy, but West Ham United may have the most special attacker on the pitch in Jarrod Bowen and they can be backed on the 'Draw No Bet' markets to come through this one.
