Wolfsburg were thrashed, toyed around, humiliated, and blown away like a schoolboy team last Sunday. The 8-1 disaster against Bayern Munich should be their final wake-up call, where they conceded 6 goals within 45 minutes.

That marked the heaviest defeat in Wolfsburg’s Bundesliga history, and their defense is a joke. Now Wolfsburg has conceded 36 goals in 16 games, making them the worst defensive side in the Bundesliga, alongside Heidenheim.

Recently, they changed their coach, with Paul Simonis being replaced by former Bundesliga player Daniel Bauer, but obviously, he still cannot figure things out.

Home form is bad as well – Wolfsburg suffered five defeats in their last six at home and have just one home win since the start of the season.

St.Pauli

After their game against RB Leipzig was postponed due to snow, St. Pauli resumes the season motivated for their first competitive game of the year. If they beat Wolfsburg, they will level on 15 points with them and escape the relegation zone, so I expect a very committed performance by them.

St.Pauli travels to Wolfsburg on the back of three unbeaten games in a row, recording two draws and a win. Their last two away matches against Koln and Mainz both ended in draws, so they are capable of getting points against relegation rivals.

Both duels between the sides last season ended in draws, and five of the last six also ended in draws.

Both Wolfsburg and St.Pauli are relegation contenders, but St.Pauli looks like a more decent side to me.
