Fenerbahce will head into matchday 7 of this season’s Europa League in confident mood as the Turkish hosts have won their last four games on the trot in all competitions, so Domenico Tedesco’s side will be keen to extend their winning streak at the expense of their Premier League visitors on Thursday night.

Domestic cup wins against Samsunspor, Galatasaray and Beyoglu Yeni Carsi have been further complemented by a Super Lig 3-2 win away from home at Alanyaspor, while on the European front, Fenerbahce have suffered just the single defeat in their opening six matches of the league phase.

A 3-1 loss on the road at Dinamo Zagreb has been their only slip-up so far and they’ve since put together a solid five-game unbeaten sequence at this level including picking up wins against Nice, Stuttgart and Brann respectively, while still remaining unbeaten on home soil.

Aston Villa were dealt an unexpected 1-0 defeat at home to Everton in the Premier League over the weekend but results overall in recent weeks have been encouraging for Unai Emery’s side as they prepare for this upcoming trip to the Chobani Stadium.

Having lost just twice in their last 16 matches in all competitions, an impressive sequence of results that include collecting no fewer than 13 wins along the way, the west midlands club will also fancy their chances of gaining a positive result here on matchday 7.

Villa have also won two of their three outings on the road in the Europa League but they will face tough and stubborn opposition in the shape of Fenerbahce on Thursday night.
