Promotion-chasing Lincoln City will be seeking to extend their impressive unbeaten run in League One to nine matches on Thursday night when they play host to lowly Burton Albion at Sincil Bank and in turn put a six-point buffer between themselves and 3rd placed Bradford City.

Five wins along with three draws have helped Lincoln City into 2nd place where they trail the League One leaders Cardiff City by a six-point margin and three of these five victories were achieved on home soil in recent weeks.

Wins gained over the likes of Barnsley, Cardiff City and Peterborough United respectively will no doubt give Michael Skubala’s side plenty of confidence ahead of Thursday night’s encounter especially as The Imps possess a solid looking home record of 9-3-1 26/13.

Thursday night’s visitors Burton Albion currently occupy 19th place in the League One table but The Brewers will be looking to collect a third win on the trot in all competitions having registered wins against Boreham Wood 5-0 away from home in the FA Cup followed by last weekend’s 3-1 home win against Huddersfield Town.

Three previous losses at the hands of Wigan Athletic, Reading and Plymouth Argyle though suggest Gary Bowyer’s side look set to have their work cut out in this upcoming trip to Sincil Bank where they’ll be up against an in-form Lincoln City.
