Lille have struggled in recent Europa League matches, losing four of their last five. They lost 2-1 to Celta Vigo last week and followed up with a 1-4 defeat to Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

SC Freiburg has already faced one French opponent this season, Nice, whom they beat 1-3 away. They drew their other two away games against Bologna and Viktoria Plzen.

SC Freiburg’s squad is having a heavy schedule, with this being their sixth game in 19 days, and the limited squad depth may start to affect their performance.

Lille will push hard at home and have the motivation to secure a playoff spot, while SC Freiburg may be slightly fatigued from a congested schedule.
