Derby County were handed a 2-1 loss at home to high-flying Ipswich Town in last weekend’s action in the Championship and The Rams’ misery was further compounded by having midfielder Lewis Travis sent off for a second yellow card.

John Eustace’s side will therefore be desperate to return to the kind of form which brought the east midlands club an encouraging four-game unbeaten sequence in the Championship beforehand, consisting of three wins and a draw, here at Pride Park on Saturday afternoon.

Recent victories gained at the expense of Preston NE, Charlton Athletic and Bristol City, the latter being a 5-0 demolition of The Robins at Ashton Gate should still give Derby County momentum here.

Swansea City occupy 15th place in the Championship table but Vitor Matos’ side will nonetheless make their way to Pride Park on Saturday as The Swans go in search of collecting a third league win on the trot.

Recent back-to-back wins against Watford 2-0 and hapless Sheffield Wednesday 4-0 respectively will also give the Welsh side plenty of confidence heading into Saturday’s encounter and all three points at Pride Park could lift the visitors up into the top half of the table.

The wider picture shows Swansea City have suffered just two losses in their last eight matches in the English second tier but The Swans will be keen to improve upon an ordinary looking away record which stands at 4-2-9 14/19 so far in this season’s Championship campaign.
