Northampton Town slipped to a third league defeat on the trot in League One in midweek when The Cobblers succumbed to a disappointing 1-0 loss at home to fellow relegation candidates Port Vale.

This latest defeat has left Northampton Town sitting third from bottom in the table and two points adrift of safety ahead of this weekend’s action in the domestic third tier and having previously been dealt losses by the likes of Lincoln City and Leyton Orient, the omens do not look good for Kevin Nolan’s side.
