Augsburg come into this Friday night clash in a confident mood after a dramatic 2-3 away win at Wolfsburg, where they struck twice after the 85th minute to snatch all three points.

Last week’s result means Augsburg have won four of their last five Bundesliga games and collected 13 points from six matches in the second half of the season, their best return at this stage of a Bundesliga campaign.

Up to 10th on the Bundesliga table and eight points clear of the bottom three, Manuel Baum’s side have real momentum, and their home form backs that up.

Goals have been a theme in Köln’s recent fixtures, with over 2.5 landing in seven of their last eight, and Ache is in sharp form with four goals in six games. Still, their defensive record on the road is a concern.

Augsburg looks the more settled and confident side right now, especially at home, where they have been tough to beat.

Köln carries a threat through their striker Ache, and their games tend to be open, so goals are likely.
