There should be plenty of motivation in the TSG Hoffenheim camp for this match. A win here would equal their club record for most wins achieved within a Bundesliga season (16), which they set in 2017 under then-coach Julian Nagelsmann.

This is also Christian Ilzer’s 50th game as TSG Hoffenheim coach, so his team should be inspired for a record win.

On top of their problems, goalkeeper Marius Müller received a red card in the 1-2 home defeat against Hamburger SV last weekend and is suspended.

My gut feeling says Wolfsburg will join Heidenheim in automatic relegation at the end of this season. They sit four points behind safety but have a tricky schedule ahead.

Projections suggest that Wolfsburg must win 4, maybe 5 games, of their remaining 9 matches to stay up. It’s doable, but I just can’t see who they will beat until the end.

Five of Wolfsburg's remaining nine opponents are from the top half, and they have a couple of tricky duels against other relegation-threatened sides.

This feels like a game between a confident top‑four side facing a team in freefall. TSG Hoffenheim’s attacking rhythm and home power make them clear favourites — especially given Wolfsburg’s horrific winless run and low confidence.
