St.Pauli

St.Pauli is third from the bottom, with a long way to go to secure their Bundesliga place. The 2-0 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach last week hurt their chances, and now they face another tricky opponent.

Still, St.Pauli’s biggest strength lies at home, where they are undefeated in six matches, winning three and drawing three.

An interesting thing is that 5 of the last 8 games of the season for St.Pauli will be home games. So perhaps this is where they will do well and lock their status.

However, we should not forget they are the worst goal scorers in the Bundesliga, with only 23 goals scored in 26 matches. They did not score in 11 games this season, so they are weak in attack.

SC Freiburg

SC Freiburg’s Bundesliga form has been poor lately. They have won only once in their last five matches and are currently winless in three.

The 0-1 home loss to Union Berlin last weekend means they are likely to miss out on European football next season, as they are now 11 points behind sixth.

Speaking of Europe, SC Freiburg were fantastic last Thursday in the UEFA Europa League. They overturned a 1-0 deficit from the first match against Belgian side Genk, hammering them 5-1 at home and reaching the quarterfinals. Perhaps that will also boost their confidence and give them momentum going into this match.

It’s kind of strange, but SC Freiburg are the third-worst away team in the Bundesliga, having failed to win any of their last five on the road and lost all of their last three.

The Betting Verdict

This is a tricky game. St.Pauli is under bigger pressure for points, but SC Freiburg are due a victory on the road, and showed an excellent display last Thursday in Europe.

I don’t expect many goals here, and would go with another double chance bet on SC Freiburg to remain unbeaten.
