Single digits remain on most regular season schedules and four teams have secured spots in the First Round of the Playoffs, which begin in a a short time.

Those teams can begin to think about how they are going to play out the string, but there is still plenty up for grabs in the NBA.

The Miami Heat (39-36) have hit a poor patch of form- this is not going to see them fall out of the Play In Tournament, but the Heat had been chasing a top six finish. Seven losses in the last eight games have meant those hopes have faded and the poor run has dropped Miami into the Number 9 spot in the standings, which would mean needing to win two games to earn a First Round position.

Only half a game separates Miami from the Number 8 spot in the Eastern Conference, but they have the same record as the Number 10 Charlotte Hornets and there is every reason to believe the Heat may have to win two road games in the Play In Tournament.

They will be bidding to begin turning the form around in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers (41-33) who have won six of the last eight games and are now just a game behind the Number 5 Seeded Toronto Raptors.

It is an important time for the 76ers who have the likes of Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and Paul George all available.

The 'Big Three' are going to make or break the season for the 76ers and the day of rest between games should mean all are ready to suit up.

Miami were blown out by the lowly Indiana Pacers on Sunday and the back to back spot is far from ideal.

When they get hot from the three point range, Miami do bring some dangerous Offensive play onto the court, but they have been struggling for consistency from the field overall. The Heat should be able to hurt Philadelphia from the distance, but they cannot afford to battle this team on the boards for second chance points.

Stopping Philadelphia may be the bigger obstacle to overcome- in recent games, Miami have allowed teams to hit at 51% from the field, while the 76ers do feel much more dangerous with the top three players on the court. The Heat have been hurt by the three point shot, and this Philadelphia team have a balanced Offense and that could show up on the night.

Miami had won five in a row in the series, but that run was snapped a little over a month ago when the 76ers beat them by 7 points at home.

Prediction

There is no doubt that the Miami Heat are a very difficult team to read and the 43-31-1 record against the spread suggests the layers have a similar issue.

They are always a dangerous underdog, but the Philadelphia 76ers have the momentum and they can cover on the road.
