Monday 20th April 2026 - Kick Off 8pm
This game is live on TV
Crystal Palace
They scored early and were dominating, but Crystal Palace managed the rest of the Conference League Quarter Final Second Leg and a narrow defeat in Florence has not prevented them from securing a spot in the next Round. Excitement is building for the remainder of this season with Crystal Palace looking like favourites to win the Conference League as Oliver Glasner looks to sign out as manager with back to back trophies.
Everyone is back on the same page and Crystal Palace have to play a couple of Premier League games before thoughts turn back to European competition. They are 13th in the Premier League table and 6 points behind the top six, but the Conference League feels like the priority. The Eagles have a 4-7-5 record at Selhurst Park in the Premier League.
Crystal Palace's 6 game unbeaten run was ended in the 2-1 Quarter Final Second Leg defeat at Fiorentina on Thursday, but that result mattered little in the overall picture. They are unbeaten in 6 at Selhurst Park in all competitions and Crystal Palace will be chasing a third victory in a row in front of the home supporters.
Cheick Doucoure is still fighting to return to training, but Evan Guessand is set to be out for at least a month. Both Adam Wharton and Maxence Lacroix came off with injuries before half time on Thursday and have to be considered doubtful.
West Ham United
A thumping win over Wolves pulled West Ham United out of the bottom three of the Premier League table and they were able to enjoy watching their rivals scramble for points through the remainder of the weekend. Playing first can be an advantage, but The Hammers have been picked to go out last this weekend.
Nuno Espirito Santo has plenty of experience of guiding clubs out of difficult spots in the Premier League and he looks to be working his magic with West Ham United who are 18th in the standings and 2 points clear of rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the bottom three. The standings could look somewhat different at kick off on Monday evening, but West Ham United's squad have to be focusing on improving the 4-4-8 away record regardless of results elsewhere.
West Ham United were beaten on Penalties in the FA Cup Quarter Final, but they are unbeaten in 3 Premier League games and earned 7 priceless points during that run. The side have won half of the last 6 away Premier League games played, but West Ham United have suffered defeat in the other half of those.
Lukasz Fabianski is the only expected absentee in the squad, although there are still two more training sessions between this preview being written and kick off on Monday evening.
Head to Head
Crystal Palace won 1-2 at the London Stadium in September.
They had won consecutive home games against West Ham United, but Crystal Palace were beaten 0-2 here last season.
Prediction
There are factors around this Premier League fixture that perhaps makes it tougher to predict.
For starters, Crystal Palace players and fans enjoyed their night out in Florence on Thursday night that saw the club move through to the Conference League Semi Final. They do have a couple of days to settle and focus, but it is clear that the priority for Crystal Palace and outgoing manager Oliver Glasner is winning that European trophy.
They are at home on Monday and that extra day of rest could be key, but Crystal Palace are hosting a highly motivated West Ham United team who have had more than a week to prepare.
Nuno Espirito Santo's experience is going to be important in this battle to avoid relegation, but moving out of the bottom three with six League games remaining is a big confidence booster.
However, West Ham United play last this weekend and a win for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday would mean kicking off back inside the relegation places.
West Ham United have been in playing well and finding some big results in recent weeks, but there have been some matches where they have just had the rub of the green. They were far from convincing up until they scored against Wolves, while West Ham United have still had some issues defensively which were evident in the 5-2 loss at Anfield.
They will feel they have had enough success at Selhurst Park to arrive with confidence- West Ham United have won 3 of the last 5 on this ground and have won half of the last 6 away Premier League games overall.
Of course much may depend on the Crystal Palace mood.
The Eagles have a 6 game unbeaten run to protect at Selhurst Park and showed they are still focused on domestic matters by coming from behind to beat Newcastle United last weekend. Some of the injuries suffered on Thursday may have just reminded the manager that he does not want to risk key players for too long, but the extra day of rest could be key for Oliver Glasner in selecting a team capable of winning.
There are some uncertainties around the fixture, but it should be noted that Crystal Palace have been defending well enough to give themselves a chance in recent home games. Being without Maxence Lacroix is a blow, but there is still enough about this Crystal Palace squad to believe they can give Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest fans hope by beating West Ham United for a second time this season.
