Wolves v Tottenham Hotspur
Football: English Premier League
Saturday 25th April 2026 - Kick Off 3pm

Wolves

Losses to relegation rivals West Ham United and Leeds United over the last couple of weeks made relegation inevitable, but it was made official for Wolves on Monday evening. An eight year stay in the Premier League is over, but Rob Edwards has already begun preparation for shaping his Wolves squad for a real effort at returning to the top flight immediately in twelve months time.

There are five Premier League games left and Wolves should still be motivated to try and avoid finishing bottom of the pile with just 3 points between them and 19th placed Burnley. That gap will be bigger if Scott Parker's team have upset Manchester City on Wednesday, but it is a target for Wolves who have a 3-3-10 record at Molineux in this Division.

Wolves have lost 3 of the last 4 games in all competitions, but the 4-0 defeat at West Ham United and 3-0 defeat at Leeds United in consecutive fixtures will have hurt the manager. Both losses were away from home and Wolves are not only unbeaten in 3 Premier League games at Molineux, but they have also won 2 in a row against Aston Villa and Liverpool.

Yerson Mosquera completes his suspension, while the likes of Jose Sa, Matt Doherty, Ladislav Krejci and Angel Gomes are all doubts.

Tottenham Hotspur

Once you hit April and May in the big European Leagues, late goals seem to create massive swings in momentum and one of those was scored in North London where Tottenham Hotspur were hosting Brighton last Saturday. Unfortunately for Roberto De Zerbi and the home fans, it was scored by Brighton to salvage a 2-2 draw and those two dropped points have left Tottenham Hotspur in a precarious position.

Another game has been scrubbed off the schedule, but Tottenham Hotspur remain in 18th place in the Premier League table and 2 points from safety. They have to travel for this huge League fixture this weekend, but Tottenham Hotspur can take some confidence from the fact they have a 5-5-6 away record in the Premier League, which is significantly stronger than the home record.

Tottenham Hotspur's late goal conceded last Saturday means they have failed to win any of the last 15 Premier League games played since the final League fixture played in the 2025 calendar year. They have won 1 of the last 9 away games in all competitions, while Spurs have suffered a defeat in 4 of the last 5 on their travels, including most recently at Sunderland.

Guglielmo Vicario is set to miss out on another fixture, while Ben Davies joins the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Cristian Romero and Mohammed Kudus on the sidelines. James Maddison was an unused sub last weekend after a long layoff of his own.

Head to Head

These teams played out a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur at the end of September.

Wolves have won the last 3 League games hosting Spurs.

Prediction

Five Premier League games are left and there is an unbelievable amount of pressure being carried by the Tottenham Hotspur players as they bid to avoid placing their names in infamy.

Relegation from the Premier League had been spoken about as a reason to Sack Thomas Frank with the team in poor form, but even then, it is hard to imagine anyone genuinely thought it was a possibility.

A terrible time under Igor Tudor came at the same time the likes of West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Leeds United all begun to pick up some important points and now Tottenham Hotspur are where they are.

Without being in the building, it is really difficult to know how the players will have responded to the heartbreaking way they dropped two points in the 2-2 draw with Brighton last Saturday. Before the game was played, a draw might not have been the worst result, but Spurs led twice and conceded the second equaliser deep into injury time.

If they had held on, there is every chance Tottenham Hotspur would have been kicking off this weekend above West Ham United, but that is not the case.

Fans can take some encouragement from the performances against Sunderland and Brighton under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, but we are in late April and it is results that matter most.

They almost HAVE to win this game and the layers understand that by pricing Tottenham Hotspur incredibly short to do that at Molineux.

Wolves have officially been relegated from the Premier League and have just been thumped 4-0 at West Ham United and 3-0 at Leeds United, but both were in away games and Rob Edwards has guided this team to positive recent home results.

In fact Wolves are unbeaten in 3 Premier League games here and have won 2 in a row against Aston Villa and Liverpool.

That is far superior form to Tottenham Hotspur who have not picked up three points in the Premier League in this calendar year and Wolves will feel that all of the pressure is on the visiting team. Some key players are missing through suspension and injury and Rob Edwards is testing out some of the members of the squad to see what they may, or may not, be able to contribute in the Championship next season.

But, again, all of the pressure is on Tottenham Hotspur with even a draw feeling like it could be a significant blow in their survival bid.

The last thing that Tottenham Hotspur will need is hearing West Ham United are leading against Everton in a game being played at the same time and it all suggests the away team are plenty short in the market.

Roberto De Zerbi has had a positive impact on the last couple of performances having picked up a squad that had little confidence following a terrible time under Igor Tudor. That will give Spurs fans some belief and a similar level to the last couple of fixtures may be enough for the away team to earn the three points.

Despite some good recent efforts from Wolves, the underlying numbers have bene against them and they have had some fortune before the last couple of fixtures at the London Stadium and Elland Road. They can take advantage of any nerves in the visiting club's squad this weekend, but Wolves are still lacking real quality and that may ultimately show up.

Wolves have won 3 in a row at home against Tottenham Hotspur, but the price has been shortening all week for the away team to find the win they desperately need.

The performance against Brighton has offered encouragement and it was Xavi Simons who was a key figure- he should be given further belief by the Noah Okafor performance from his side of the pitch against Wolves last weekend, albeit at home rather than at Molineux.

Both goalscorers for Spurs last weekend look capable of having an impact in this fixture with Pedro Porro a big price to have a Shot on Target. He has had five since Roberto De Zerbi has taken over as manager and at 2.62 it may be the most attractive approach to take to this fixture.

Personally it feels like Tottenham Hotspur have shown enough over the last two weeks to believe they can win this Premier League game, but they are impossible to trust at odds on.

Roberto De Zerbi has clearly set his team up to get more out of Pedro Porro and his attacking capabilities and so backing him to earn another Shot on Target looks the best play out of a difficult fixture to really get a handle on.

The Pick :

Wolves 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

FIXED ODDS BETTING :

I'll back Pedro Porro Over 0.5 Shots on Target at 2.62 with Bet365
