Athlone Town extended their unbeaten run in the Irish second tier to four games overall with a point gained by way of a 1-1 draw away from home at Longford Town last time out which helped the hosts remain in the top five of the Irish First Division table.

Two wins along with two draws have placed Athlone Town in 4th place in the domestic second tier standings thanks mainly to victories gained at the expense of Finn Harps and Bray Wanderers respectively and recent results have seen a definite improvement for Ian Ryan’s side.
