Wolves
There is going to be a lot of upheaval in the Wolves squad in the coming weeks as some players are allowed to depart, while others are retained ahead of the return to the Championship. These are things that Rob Edwards is analysing as the Premier League run comes to an end and the Wolves supporters have been behind in the team, despite the poor campaign that has been produced.
Games are running out for Wolves to drag themselves out of bottom place in the Premier League standings, but they do play at Turf Moor on the final day and there are 3 points between Wolves and Burnley in the standings. A 3-4-11 record at Molineux has been a major factor in the Wolves relegation season and the side have scored 18 goals and conceded 33 in those matches.
Wolves conceded two very early goals in the 3-0 loss at Brighton last weekend and that means they have won none of the last 7 games in all competitions and been beaten 5 times in that run. They had suffered consecutive home defeats before rallying against ten man Sunderland in a 1-1 draw.
Jose Sa is hoping to be available for the last home game of the season.
Fulham
Another narrow defeat has left Fulham in a very tough position in their bid to return to European Football and attention will be turning to the future of Marco Silva as manager of the club. It seems increasingly likely that he will be departing at the conclusion of the campaign and Silva has long felt his ambitions were not being met by the Fulham board.
Another mid-table finish is looking likely for Fulham who have slipped into 11th place in the Premier League standings- they will now need two wins to round out the season and hope results go their way if they are going to earn a spot in any European competition. They travel to the Midlands with a 4-4-10 away record in the top flight this season.
Fulham have won 1 of the last 5 games and the 0-1 defeat to Bournemouth last time out means 3 of those have ended in a loss. Since beating Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, Fulham have not won any of 4 away Premier League games played and have failed to score a single goal.
Joachim Andersen made a foolish tackle last weekend which saw him sent off and he will serve a suspension. Both Ryan Sessegnon and Alex Iwobi are holding out hope that they can play before the end of the season.
Head to Head
Fulham beat Wolves 3-0 at home earlier this season.
Wolves had been unbeaten in 18 games at Molineux against Fulham, but that run was ended in a 1-2 defeat in February 2025.
Prediction
Despite the current positions of each of these teams in the Premier League standings, this is far from an easy game to predict.
Neither Wolves nor Fulham have been playing with a lot of confidence in recent outings and the results have matched the performances.
Both have struggled to create consistent Big Chances and the layers are perhaps overestimating the chance of seeing at least three goals when Wolves host the last Premier League game at Molineux for at least fifteen months.
Right off the bat the feeling is that Fulham are a very short price to win here- they have not won any of the last 4 away Premier League games and failed to score in each of those. Marco Silva has always spoken of his desire to take Fulham back into European Football, but the board are only concerned about Premier League status and that can sometimes filter into the squad.
Unsurprisingly it sounds like Marco Silva is set to depart Craven Cottage at the end of the season with that in mind and his team have not been creating a lot of chances in recent away games.
At the same time, Wolves are hard to trust in their current situation.
Rob Edwards is clearly testing players and whether they are going to be able to produce the hard work that it will take to get Wolves out of the Championship next season. The early capitulation against Brighton last week was a concern, but Wolves have proven to be a bit more stubborn at home in recent weeks and that should help them in their bid to contain the visiting team.
Scoring enough goals has been the big problem for Wolves all season and there is little motivation in this fixture.
It could allow players to perform with more freedom, but neither team has looked all that convincing of late and backing the under 2.5 goals option at odds against looks the best way to be involved in this fixture if you are going to part money on it.
