Now, the final game of the season is against a relegation-threatened side, but this time I think Schalke 04 will not let it go that easily. Winning at home is something their fans demand, regardless of the fact that their opponents “must” win this game.

And Schalke 04 have been fantastic at home – 12 home wins in 16 games, including 5 wins in the last 6.

Eintracht Braunschweig

Eintracht Braunschweig have their backs against the wall, sitting a point above the relegation playoff spot.

There are scenarios in which even a defeat could keep them safe, but only if Arminia Bielefeld loses at home to Hertha Berlin.

Eintracht Braunschweig won twice in their last three matches, including 2-1 last week against Dynamo Dresden. That should motivate them to go for another win here on this difficult trip, a win that 100% guarantees safety regardless of other results.

Interestingly, Eintracht Braunschweig is one of the rare few sides to have beaten 2.Bundesliga champions Schalke 04 this season. Their first duel ended in a 2-1 home win last December.

The Betting Verdict

Everyone says – this team needs this and that, this team “must” win, but one thing is clear here – Schalke 04 is a class above Eintracht Braunschweig.

Yes, the game is more important for the visitors, but I don’t think Schalke 04 will grant them a free pass in Gelsenkirchen.

Odds on the home win look pretty decent, and Schalke 04 should go for a win as revenge for that defeat by Eintracht Braunschweig last December. Back the home win.
