Werder Bremen have plenty to improve after being beaten 4-1 at SC Freiburg on the opening Bundesliga weekend. They actually took the lead through Justin Njinmah, but SC Freiburg turned the game around and scored four times after the break. It was a rough start for Daniel Thioune's side, particularly defensively.

The first home game of the season gives Werder Bremen a chance to reset, but the opposition could hardly be more demanding.

There are some absences to consider, with Christoph Baumgartner expected to miss out with a thigh injury, but RB Leipzig still look to have the stronger squad and better momentum.
