Champions League
2026-09-10 - Bayern Munich vs Bodo-Glimt
A Sports Betting Preview by Niko
Football; UEFA Champions League: 1st Round
Allianz Arena – Munich, Germany
Thursday, 10th September 2026 - kickoff 21:00 CET
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich begin another UEFA Champions League campaign at home, and they have made a strong start domestically despite being held to a goalless draw by Schalke 04 in their latest Bundesliga game.
Before that, Vincent Kompany's side beat VfB Stuttgart 5-1 in the league and VfL Osnabrück 4-1 in the DFB Pokal, while they also lifted the Supercup by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1.
The unexpected scoreless draw against Schalke 04 was partly explained by Kompany managing the minutes of players who returned late from the World Cup, with Harry Kane and Michael Olise both coming off the bench.
Kane should therefore be fresh for this one, while Jamal Musiala also returned against Schalke 04 after missing Bayern Munich's first three competitive matches. Serge Gnabry remains the main confirmed absence as he continues his recovery from an adductor injury.
The Bavarians also have a remarkable record in opening UEFA Champions League matches, having won their first game in every campaign since 2003. They reached the semi-finals last season and will expect to start this league phase with three points, but Bodo/Glimt's recent European results suggest this may not be as simple as the home price implies.
Bodo/Glimt
Bodo/Glimt have earned their place in the UEFA Champions League phase the hard way. They came through two qualifying rounds, first overcoming Union Saint-Gilloise 6-5 on aggregate and then beating NEC Nijmegen 6-1, winning both legs against the Dutch side. They have also continued scoring freely in Norway, beating Rosenborg 4-2 before a 2-1 away win at Fredrikstad last Friday.
That makes the visitors particularly interesting from a goals perspective. Bodo/Glimt have scored in every Champions League qualifying match this season and have found the net in each of their last several competitive games.
Bodo/Glimt also have plenty of recent European experience after reaching the last 16 of the Champions League last season, so this is not a side arriving in Munich without the confidence to attack.
There are still some concerns at the back, with Hakon Evjen unavailable and Jostein Gundersen a doubt. Bayern Munich have considerably more individual quality, particularly with Kane, Olise and the rest of their attacking options available, but Bodo/Glimt's attacking form gives them a realistic chance of getting on the scoresheet in this game, regardless of the final result.
The Betting Verdict
Bayern Munich are massive favorites and should have too much quality for Bodo/Glimt.
However, Both Teams To Score is the angle I like here. Bayern Munich have conceded in two of their four competitive matches this season, while Bodo/Glimt have been extremely reliable in front of goal and have scored in every Champions League qualifier.
The visitors have already shown they are willing to attack strong opposition rather than simply sit back, and Bayern Munich will focus on controlling the game rather than protecting a narrow lead.
A Bayern Munich victory with Bodo/Glimt contributing a goal looks like a very realistic scenario.
So, my main bet recommendation here is taking both teams to score. If you want a shot at a bit higher odds, go with a combo of Bayern Munich Win & BTTS.
