Phil Parkinson has done a fine job as manager of the club, but he will need some of the late signings to gel together very quickly with the rest of the squad.

Wrexham are unbeaten in 3 League games since the 1-2 home loss to Birmingham City, but they have had to settle for back to back draws since the stunning 0-3 win at Millwall. They were beaten at the Riverside Stadium in the First Round of the League Cup, but Wrexham have only conceded a single goal in the 3 away Championship fixtures played.

Head to Head

West Ham United were upset 0-1 by Wrexham in the FA Cup when last hosting them, although that was all the way back in January 1997 and was played at Upton Park.

This is the first League fixture between the clubs since the 1980/81 season.

Prediction

The opening fixture in the Championship is played on Friday night and West Ham United fans will continue to create a positive atmosphere for the players, despite the off field issues continue to cast a dark cloud above the London Stadium.

Nuno Espirito Santo and the players have used the positive backing to produce 3 League wins in a row and they have won twice in succession in this part of East London.

Premier League quality has been helping West Ham United create a lot of chances and that is being backed up by the required composure to turn those into plenty of goals.

Phil Parkinson's Wrexham have been very tough to beat and the last two away performances have to be respected as they have produced consecutive clean sheets. They will certainly not want to open up and make this a basketball match, but West Ham United may still have the composure needed in the final third to break them down and that could leave Wrexham open to the counter attack.
