Werder Bremen have made a habit of scoring late. Nine of their 10 Bundesliga goals have come after half-time, with six arriving in the final 15 minutes. That was clear again against Borussia Dortmund, when Werder Bremen scored twice late on to rescue a 2-2 draw.

Niclas Füllkrug has been in good form, scoring in four straight Bundesliga games. Werder Bremen also beat FC Augsburg 3-2 in their last home match, so confidence should be high ahead of this one.

There are still several absentees. Jens Stage, Justin Njinmah, Keke Topp and Felix Agu are among those unavailable, while Senne Lynen is a doubt. Mitchell Weiser has returned from a long injury layoff but is not expected to start just yet.

SC Paderborn

SC Paderborn have a clear problem up front. They have failed to score in four of their first five Bundesliga games, already drawing more blanks than in their entire 2.Bundesliga campaign last season. Their latest match ended in a 0-2 home defeat to VfB Stuttgart, and they managed little in attack.

The promoted side needs to find a way to create more chances if they want to take anything from Werder Bremen. That will not be easy against a Werder Bremen team that keeps pushing until the final whistle.

SC Paderborn will also be without Marcel Hoffmeier, Timur Gayret, Sebastian Klaas and Nyamekye Awortwie-Grant. Those absences leave coach Ralf Kettemann with fewer options as he looks for a way to improve his side's attacking threat.
