A Sports Betting Preview by Niko

VfB Stuttgart v Borussia Mönchengladbach
Football; Germany: Bundesliga
MHP Arena – Stuttgart
Friday, 23rd October 2026 - kickoff 20:30 CET

VfB Stuttgart

VfB Stuttgart have had a frustrating week already, and it could get tougher before this match. They lost 1-0 away to Hamburger SV last weekend despite creating numerous chances through Ermedin Demirović and Deniz Undav.

Sebastian Hoeness's side face Atlético Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, leaving them only three days before Friday's Bundesliga game. That short turnaround could lead to some rotation, although VfB Stuttgart have enough depth to field a strong side.

Maximilian Mittelstädt is expected to remain out after suffering a laceration to his right heel earlier this month. VfB Stuttgart's confirmed absentees are Justin Diehl, Luca Malanga and Dan-Axel Zagadou, with Ameen Al-Dakhil and Tiago Tomás doubtful.

Borussia Mönchengladbach

Borussia Mönchengladbach have lost all six Bundesliga games and sit bottom with no points. They lost 1-2 at home to TSG Hoffenheim last weekend, extending their miserable run.

The team lacks confidence and is struggling to stop opponents from scoring. They have allowed an incredible 20 goals in 6 games so far.

The injury list makes this game even harder. Tim Kleindienst, Franck Honorat, Ko Itakura, Jens Castrop, Enzo Leopold and Jan Leszczyński are listed as unavailable.

The Betting Verdict

VfB Stuttgart have won four of their last six Bundesliga duels against Borussia Mönchengladbach, including two clean sheet wins last season.

I’m going with VfB Stuttgart to win this one in combination with a couple of goals scored.

Borussia Mönchengladbach have lost six from six and remain weakened by injuries, while VfB Stuttgart should have enough at home despite the short recovery time after Atlético Madrid.

The Pick :

VfB Stuttgart 2-0 Borussia Mönchengladbach
