The World Series began as a best of seven Series, but it is now a best of five situation after both the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers were able to win one of the first two games. Both were hosted in Toronto and the World Series will only go back to Canada is each of the teams are able to win at least one of the next three games, all to be played in Los Angeles.
A day of rest between games will have allowed both teams to just settle down, but all three games to be hosted by the Dodgers will be completed by Wednesday. Game 3 will be played on Monday and two experienced starting pitchers will be handed the ball in what will feel like an important game for both teams.
The Toronto Blue Jays will go with 'Mad Max' Scherzer who turned back the clock in his performance in the Divisional Round against the Seattle Mariners. He showed his frustration when it was first put to him to leave the game and Scherzer was able to keep the momentum going and eventually did leave after giving up two runs into the 6th Inning.
Max Scherzer had some erratic performances in the final weeks of the regular season, but the veteran has plenty of post-season experience and that is important. He has pitched in this ballpark previously as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, while Max Scherzer held this opponent to two runs in 6 completed Innings during the 2025 season.
Los Angeles will counter by handing the ball to the next top starter as they move from Yoshinobu Yamamoto to Tyler Glasnow. Another Completed Game from the previous starter means the bullpen is incredibly well rested, but the Dodgers success has been around the starting rotation and Tyler Glasnow has allowed a single run in two Playoff starts, while allowing that number of runs across 13 plus Innings.
Tyler Glasnow also faced the Toronto Blue Jays in the regular season and he gave up two runs, while being one Out away from completing 6 Innings too.

Prediction
The first two games of the 2025 World Series have been fascinating and they have almost played out as people would have expected.
If the Blue Jays can get after the Los Angeles starter, they can expose the bullpen and really pile up some runs.
However, if the Dodgers starting pitcher rolls, the defending Champions have enough about them through the batting order to score the runs needed to win games.
Los Angeles have not exactly been lighting up the scoreboard with fewer runs across the first two games compared with the Toronto Blue Jays. They are well aware that the starting rotation means they do not have to score that many runs in order to win games, but the Dodgers could have more success against the bottom of the Toronto starting rotation.
Max Scherzer had a special outing in the Divisional Round, and he is vastly experienced, but the veteran had finished the regular season in poor form. It feels less likely that he can maintain the form shown in a single Playoff game compared with what was being produced before that and the Dodgers may feel they can put some runs on the board.
Tyler Glasnow's overall performances have been much more consistent and that can show up in Game 3 with the Dodgers likely to win by more than a single run margin again.
Freddie Freeman did not score a Home Run in Game 1, but he had a couple of hard hit balls in Game 2 and looks like he is still seeing things pretty well.
His career record against Max Scherzer cannot be ignored having previously produced three Home Runs against the veteran and Freddie Freeman is 4.90 to earn another.
