2010-03-17 - F.C Barcelona vs Stuttgart
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Barcelona enters this match knowing that a goalless draw would be good enough to put them into the last eight. Stuttgart are currently unbeaten on their travels this season, but with the tie standing at 1-1 after the first leg the advantage is with the Spanish side now.
Stuttgart travels to the Nou Camp knowing they have never ever managed to win in Spain before so it is a daunting task ahead for them.
Rest assured Barcelona will not just sit back and defend as Pep Guardiola will instruct his boys to go for the win here. With the likes of Lionel Messi scoring a hattrick against Valencia at the weekend, goals are sure to come in this match that is for certain.
However, they will miss the services of captain and defensive talisman Carles Puyol. Gabriel Milito is likely to come into the side as his replacement. Rafael Marquez is also pushing for a start.
Upfront, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to the side after serving his domestic suspension. Thierry Henry will come to partner him replacing Bojan Krkic. Eric Abidal remains out of the side with a groin injury which means that Maxwell will continue to deputise at left-back.
Seydou Keita is out due to a hamstring injury but the Spanish side can look to Sergi Busquets as an ab le replacement here. But the bad news the home side will have to b ear is that playmaker Xavi is suffering from a muscle problem in his right leg and is likely to be out of action for the next two weeks.
As for Stuttgart, they are fully refreshed as their last game was on Friday night. But they ended that match losing to the hands of Schalke 04. Christian Gross who has done well since taking over the side will welcome back French centre-half Mathieu Delpierre back into the side after he serve his suspension.
Germany Under 21 defender Stefano Celozzi has returned to full training following illness, but Gross is unlikely to make much changes to the side.
Martin Lanig, Arthur Boka and Sven Ulreich remain long-term absentees but other than that there are no other injuries or suspensions to worry about.
Take Barcelona to win and give the 1 3/4 ball here.
Cheers and good luck,
