Match Analysis :
Match of the week no doubt as Inter Milan welcomes Juventus to the San Siro. This match has a lot at stake to it because Juventus were demoted to Serie B after the 2006 trial and saw two Scudetti revoked, including the 2005-06 edition that was instead handed to Inter.
For both sides this is a crucial match no doubt. Inter leads the standings, on level points with Lazio, after their surprise 1-0 defeat at Roma and have a series of injury problems to deal with. Juve are still mid-table, as Sunday’s 4-2 result against Cagliari was only their second win of the season. In midweek, they came away with a 1-1 draw with Manchester City and tiredness could play a prt in this match.
Juventus has one of the worse defensive record in Serie A as they have conceded nine goals in just five games. If you include the Europa League games then they have conceded as many as 13 goals in seven games.
Rafa Benitez does have a problems as he has to fight against injuries in his side. Diego Milito, Lucio, Walter Samuel and Marco Materazzi are out of the side which means that Samuel Eto’o and Cristian Chivu could start in their favourite positions after all.
Eto’o is in red hot form scoring a hat-trick in the 4-0 demolition of Weder Bremen in midweek. Chivu is likely to start in centre back while Davide Santon will start on the left back.
They still have a huge injury list. Thiago Motta is out of action, but Javier Zanetti, Samuel, Lucio and Milito could still recover in time to feature. Meanwhile, Goran Pandev returns from his knee problem and Julio Cesar is ready after his precautionary substitution against Bremen. Coutinho is on standby to start if Milito is unable to start.
Juventus does have injury problems of their own. Amauri is still rated doubtful, with Gigi Buffon and Armand Traoré long-term absentees. Alessandro Del Piero may be rested after playing in midweek's draw with Manchester City. Vincenzo Iaquinta who was the scorer in that match is likely to partner Fabio Quagliarella.
upfront.
Felipe Melo and Claudio Marchisio is likely to be in the starting lineup instead of Alberto Aquilani despite making his debut last week. Even though Paolo De Ceglie is back from injury, but all eyes are on Milos Krasic after he scored three goals to destroyed Cagliari.
Take Inter Milan to win this match.
Cheers and good luck,
