Gangwon started their season with a good 3-1 win over FC Seoul on home soil. After that they were beaten away from home by Sangju Sangmu by 2-0 and failed to score a goal in that match.
After that they played two further games at home as they played a draw with Seongnam FC 1-1 on the 23rd May and then in their last match they beat Jeonbuk FC on the 30th May with their only goal scored by Mu-Yeol Ko.
