Ulsan Hyundai will be eager to return to winning ways in the South Korean top flight on Friday morning when they play host to lower half outfit, Jeju United, at their Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium following recent back-to-back defeats in the K-League 1.
Recent losses to Incheon United 2-1 at home and a heavy 3-1 loss away from home at Suwon Bluewings will have been disappointing for Ulsan but nevertheless, the hosts still sit top of the K-League 1 table where they hold a commanding 12-point cushion over 2nd placed Pohang Steelers heading into this Friday’s fixture.
Prior to these losses, Ulsan Hyundai had put together an impressive five-match winning streak which included a 5-1 thrashing of Jeju United and the hosts will be keen to replicate that landslide victory again on Friday.
As for Jeju United, the visitors have slipped down the K-League 1 table to 8th place after failing to win any of their last eight matches overall in the domestic top flight which includes being handed five defeats in the process, so the visitors will also be keen to rekindle their promising earlier form of this season.
Jeju United had previously put together an encouraging eight-match unbeaten run in the South Korean top flight which consisted of six wins and two draws and included a notable 2-1 home win against 2nd placed Pohang Steelers, albeit at home.
The visitors had also racked up five wins on the road earlier in the season as well, recording wins at Gangwon, Suwon Bluewings, Gwangju, Daejeon Citizen and Suwon respectively but Jeju United have since slumped to four defeats on the trot on their travels.
