Le Havre were dealt a 4-2 loss away from home at Lyon in the French top flight before the international break but the hosts will now return to their Stade Océane for Sunday’s vital clash against fellow strugglers Nantes with a precious three points at stake for both sides.
It’s been a miserable run of results overall for Le Havre in Ligue 1 as the hosts have managed to pick up just two wins from their last 14 matches overall in the domestic top flight which came in the form of welcome wins against Lille and lens respectively.
However, Le Havre have also slipped to nine losses within this 14-game period, six of which have been handed out to the hosts on home soil so the prospects of a home win seem unlikely.
Nantes bounced back from two losses on the trot in Ligue 1 just before the international break with a welcome and desperately needed 1-0 home win against Lille which helped the visitors avoid a third league defeat on the trot.
The visitors had previously succumbed to losses at the hands of Marseille and Strasbourg while Nantes have managed to register just four wins from their previous 23 games overall in the domestic top flight, along with being handed 11 losses in the process as well.
Interestingly, three of these four wins for Nantes have been achieved on home soil at their Stade de la Beaujoire while the visitors have collected just one win from their last 11 outings on the road.
