Fortaleza stumbled to a worrying fifth defeat on the trot in all competitions in their recent visit to the Brazilian Serie A league leaders, Flamengo, as Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s side were dealt a comprehensive 5-0 thrashing, but they at least hold home advantage for this upcoming relegation battle against Santos on Thursday night.

This could be easier said than done though where Santos are concerned as the visitors have lost five of their opening six away games so far in this season’s Serie A campaign amidst a wretched looking away record which stands at 1-0-5 3/7 with their solitary success coming in the form of a 1-0 win on the road at Vitoria.
