The Rabbitohs have shown grit at times in 2025 but continue to be hampered by injuries and key player absences. The Rabbits are placed 12th on a 6-7 record and really need to improve their consistency if they are to make the finals in 2025.
Souths managed a lead against the Raiders 12-0 last week before being overrun in the second half, losing Cody Walker to a groin injury and missing Campbell Graham due to back spasms. Latrell Mitchell is away on Origin duty, and Walker remains sidelined, forcing a yet another reshuffle in the spine.
Jye Gray starts at fullback, Jayden Sullivan moves to five-eighth, and Jamie Humphreys takes over at halfback. Jack Wighton and Isaiah Tass form a solid centre pairing, while Alex Johnston remains a constant threat on the wing, becoming the 2nd highest try scorer of all time in his last match.
Jai Arrow and Siliva Havili will lead the forward pack, with Davvy Moale added to the bench. One of Souths best players, Campbell Graham is listed among the reserves and could be a late inclusion if fit.
Canterbury Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are enjoying one of their best seasons ever, sitting near at the top of the ladder despite a heavy loss to the Dolphins in Round 12. The Dogs return from a bye with several key players on Origin duty—Stephen Crichton, Matt Burton, Max King, and Kurt Mann—but still field a strong side. Canterbury is aiming to improve their impressive record to 11-2 with a victory in this match.
Canterbury has the luxury of new recruit filling the hole left by Burton in the halves with Lachlan Galvin who moves into the starting side following his club debut last weekend, he is partnering Toby Sexton in the halves.
Jacob Kiraz shifts to centre – provided he is released as injury cover in Origin, with Blake Wilson coming onto the wing. Josh Curran moves to prop, and excellent back rower, Jacob Preston returns from suspension in the second row. Jake Turpin and Kurt Morrin are the new faces on the bench.

The fact the Rabbitohs have won only three of their past eight games at Accor Stadium and are without some key personnel who are now facing a red hot Bulldogs side who, lets face it, have some great depth at present losing just 2 matches all season, this match should go in favour of the Blue and White.
The safest option here is to take the Bulldogs at $1.42 just to win which is the logical outcome here, however adding in an anytime try scorer, like Johnston or Montoya will increase your odds to around $2.30 to $3.00
