Juventus has six points so far, with two hard-fought wins-to-nil against Parma and Genoa. Nothing spectacular, you'd say, same old Juventus. But it's different this time.
Tudor's Juventus packs a bigger punch than last season and is much more adaptible to the situation on the pitch. There are more creative offensive players, Yildiz is a year older, and finally things are happening for this side that has long been troubled by its own inability to produce chances.
Based on what we've seen so far from all the teams in Serie A, Juventus is just behind Napoli as the joint favourite to win the title this season. Inter is there too, at the same level as Juventus this time around. Not above.
Jonathan David was brought in from Lille but he doesn't seem to be a good fit for Serie A. He's not very physical, doesn't open up space, he's like a winger that you put on the central position. Despite the goals that will obviously come when you play as a forward for Juventus, David doesn't seem to be the player to make an impact in big matches.
But Dusan Vlahovic and the new signing Lois Openda will be on the bench here. Openda might be what the fans wanted David to be. He's a fantastic striker who has made an impact at Lens and RB Leipzig, and is more than ready to step into a serious league at age 25. It was long overdue.
Inter Team News
Inter first scored with incredible ease at home against Torino, the score was 5-0 and could have been worse for the visitors, and then came crashing back to earth with a 1-2 home defeat against Udinese. And it never looked like Inter will get anything more than possibly an equalizer after the 1-2 in the first half. But they didn't get that either.
This result and performance raise a lot of questions. Is Inter still the same powerhouse as they were two seasons ago? Is Chivu as good of a coach as Simone Inzaghi? We'll know the answer to a lot of those after this duel with Juventus. But one thing's for sure: these teams are trending in opposite directions. Juventus seems to be on the rise, and Inter has to rediscover its form in possibly the most difficult game for them in Italy.

Juventus (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio - Gatti, Bremer, Kelly - Kalulu, Locatelli, Thuram, Joao Mario - Koopmeiners, Yildiz - David. Coach Tudor.
Inter (3-5-2): Sommer - Akanji, Acerbi, Bastoni - Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco - Thuram, Lautaro. Coach Chivu.
Tudor had to do a lot of shuffling to accomodate for the absence of Conceicao. In Inter, new signing Akanji replaces Pavard who left for Olympique Marseille.
The Betting Market
You can win big if you have a hunch as the prices on all three outcomes are basically the same. The draw is priced highest at 3.10 while both Juventus and Inter wins are priced at 2.80. Which would suggest that the bookmakers still rate Inter as the better side, with Juventus simply having the home advantage to even the playing field.
Both Teams To Score: YES seems to be a certainty here as the bookmakers are only giving 1.60 for it. They're counting on someone scoring first and then the other side managing to catch up. Seems a reasonable bet, but don't be surprised if this will be trench warfare with very little space. Don't forget how Juventus plays in derbies, it's a 1-0 or 0-0. Forget about the 4-4 in Milano last season, that's an outlier.
The Betting Verdict
As opposed to betting on Juventus at 2.80 and then having the bet ruined by an Inter goal at any point, we'll take the cautious route and take the Asian Handicap (0) instead. This gives us our stake back in the event of a draw, which is always a possibility in Derby della Italia. Juventus is the underrated side here and therefore our bet goes to them. Inter has too many questions without answers at this point.
