Tamworth picked up a third win on the trot in all competitions on the weekend when The Lambs registered a 1-0 home win against Yeovil Town and Wednesday night’s hosts will be looking for more of the same when they welcome mid-table Wealdstone to The Lamb Ground.
Tamworth themselves find themselves in 7th place in the National League table having also previously collected all three points in a 3-2 win away from home at former League Two side Sutton United while recent results overall have seen Andy Peaks’ side suffer just one loss in their last seven matches in all competitions.
Four wins within these last seven games overall include earlier victories gained over Braintree Town and Eastleigh in the National League and the hosts possess a home record which stands at 3-1-1 6/3.
Wealdstone currently occupy 11th place in the National League table and although the visitors progressed in the National League Cup with a 2-1 home win against Leicester City U21, Sam Cox’s side have struggled to put together results on a consistent basis.
Indeed, Wealdstone have managed to capture just two wins from their last seven games in all competitions, the other being on home soil in a 3-2 home win against Southend United but this sequence also includes being dealt four defeats as well.
Defeats at the hands of Carlisle United, Boston United, Rochdale and Morecambe suggest Wealdstone may be in for a tough time at The Lamb Ground on Wednesday night especially as The Stones possess a poor away record of 1-0-3 6/7 in the early stages of this season’s campaign.
The Betting Verdict
Tamworth have won the previous two meetings against Wealdstone 1-0 and 4-1 respectively.
