Palmeiras may occupy a lofty 2nd place position in the Brazilian Serie A table but the visitors have experienced a concerining downturn in form in recent weeks, suffering two losses and being involved in two draws.
Defeats at the hands of Mirassol and Santos together with being held to stalemates by Vitoria and Fluminense have stalled Abel Ferreira’s side’s momentum so the visitors will be keen to return to winning ways against Gremio in order to keep their Copa Libertadores aspirations on track.
An away record of 9-2-5 23/18 suggests Palmeiras stand a decent chance of at least avoiding defeat at the Arena do Grêmio.
