Brighton looked on course to extend the unbeaten run when taking a two goal lead against Aston Villa, but the eventual defeat snapped the run of 4 fixtures without a loss. They had won 3 in a row at home since blowing another 2-0 lead against Tottenham Hotspur, while Brighton will at least be encouraged by the attacking performances being produced.
Stefanos Tzimas is expected to miss significant time after picking up an early injury in the game played on Wednesday. Kaoru Mitoma is a doubt, but Brighton could have Georginio Rutter available.
West Ham United
After seeing both Leeds United and Nottingham Forest earn important wins, it was perhaps important for West Ham United to avoid a defeat at Old Trafford on Thursday. Nuno Espirito Santo will know that the performances will have to improve if West Ham United are going to climb out of the bottom three, but will also be encouraged by his team picking up a result when not at their best.
Relegation battling rivals will have played before West Ham United again during this round of fixtures and that could give the table a very different look depending on results earned. The Hammers are going into the weekend in 18th place in the table and just 2 points behind Leeds United outside of the bottom three, while West Ham United have a 1-3-3 away record.
West Ham United have lost 1 of the last 5 Premier League games and they have earned 8 points in that time to make sure they have not been cut off alongside Wolves. Since losing consecutive away games at Arsenal and Leeds United, West Ham United have held Bournemouth and Manchestrer United to draws on their travels.

With that being said, the returns are about par and that should mean both sets of players are still going to be playing with some confidence.
Having an extra day to prepare has to give Brighton an advantage and they have been pretty strong at the Amex Stadium all season.
Losing will have hurt last time out, but Brighton have continued to offer a real threat in the final third and they may have too much firepower for this West Ham United team.
Nuno Espirito Santo will likely set his team up to be hard to beat, but Brighton's qualities in the final third could prove to be good enough to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
West Ham United will look to play their part on the counter, but the edge is with Brighton who can score at least twice in a winning effort.
